Growing, harvesting, and creating whole food meals from scratch has become my primary passion, rooted in a personal pursuit to find balance through holistic health and nutrition that began back in college. The pursuit of wellness inevitably led me toward learning to grow and process my own foods and medicinal herbs. I first landed in Hawaii in 2010, in the beautiful landscapes of North Kohala, Big Island. It was there I was able to re-wild with nature and embrace the simple life, while simultaneously falling in love with the land, culture, people, and of course the amazing fresh food growing everywhere! Working an organic permaculture farm, and eating from the land, combined with pristine spring water and limited cell phone service, rejuvenated my body, mind and spirit in ways I never expected. I have since migrated to the Garden Island of Kauai, where I've continued to cultivate and expand my cooking, permaculture and biodynamic farming skills for several years now. I strive to keep my recipes as close to nature as possible to preserve the life force or "mana" in the food, while ensuring it looks and tastes beautiful as well. My experience is that strong health is the ultimate wealth, achieved through clean diet and environment; a wellspring from which all else flows abundantly. So much gratitude for these majestic islands, their rich volcanic soils, fresh waters and year-round growing seasons, that generously give so much vitality to all.
